Corina Dross' Profile

About

I consider art an act of kindness. Most of my art is inspired by love for my friends and the desire to make useful, meaningful things.

I enjoy making sequential work (calendars, decks of cards) because it allows for so many ideas to come together, like a book. I also appreciate the intimacy of smaller objects that you can hold in your hand.

I was trained in life drawing from the age of 11 and continue learning and refining my craft all the time. My artistic inspirations include Edward Gorey, Frida Kahlo, Alphonse Mucha, Frans Masereel, José Guadalupe Posada, Lynda Barry, William Morris, James Ensor, Kathe Kollwitz, and Anselm Kiefer.
