About

I'm MJ - a graduate student, wife, mother, crafter, and rabbit owner. I have a B.A. in International Studies and am pursuing a degree in linguistics and exegesis so that I can translate the Bible into languages that don't have it yet. My goal is that this Etsy shop will pay for my textbooks - using one passion to fulfill another! I also love reading, writing, music, meditating, and enjoying nature.

My Crochet Story:
My grandmother crocheted each of her grandchildren a blanket in our favorite colors before she died. However, I didn't realize it was crochet work until years later.

My Crochet Story:
My grandmother crocheted each of her grandchildren a blanket in our favorite colors before she died. However, I didn't realize it was crochet work until years later.

In 2003, while I was struggling through a difficult time in my life, my next-door neighbor in our college dorm taught me to single crochet. She reached out to me through the joy of yarn, and I was "hooked". I taught myself other crochet techniques through books and LOTS of practice (and frogging!). Soon after, I remembered the blanket my grandmother made me. Imagine my delight when I realized I had a lovely crochet heirloom!

Since then, I have branched out to amigurumi, Tunisian crochet, broomstick crochet, and a variety of crochet stitches which can be seen throughout my shop. I have also begun making journals because I am an avid journalist and love a quality, inspirational journal.
