About

Crazie Happy was born from my love of making things with my hands, particularly things with clay. There's little that can distract me from my worktable with my 2 dogs crashed out beside me (when they're not barking their heads off in the backyard). It's pretty blissful - no wonder I'm addicted to it.

When it comes to making art I'm drawn to letting whatever wants to come out of me come out. I'm drawn to that kind of creative process, without plan or preconceived idea, spontaneous, in the moment. What comes out of me is what you see in this shop. It's super bright and colorful! It's kind of psychedelic.

It resembles patterns and colors you see in art from other cultures - Mexican, Turkish, Moroccan, Persian, Mayan and more. It's about combining and layering patterns, shapes and colors to an exponential degree. At Crazie Happy there is no such thing as going overboard with color. I combine all the colors of the rainbow in unique combinations and patterns, building up layers of complexity, like a still image from a kaleidoscope. An especially wild one.

I can't write about Crazie Happy and not mention teapots. Teapots lend themselves particularly well to Crazie Happy magic. In all my teapot expeditions I've never come across a duplicate. Each has its own personality and vibe. I've really come to love them since I started working with them. Not that I don't love my other "babies" - I do. I just have a special thing for teapots. :)
