While we are temporarily residing in TX for a year or more to help family start a business, however, Crockett Mountain Woodworks llc, is based in the beautiful Arkansas Ozarks and is run by my husband and myself. Our family is taking care of our property and we are planning a run up there soon to get frames, and more wood. We moved our pets and half our shop to Houston so we could keep things going. Your purchases help us with our pets expenses, most of them are very old and have medical conditions. I also work as a full time pet groomer in Cypress Tx.

Our tools consist of a scroll saw, band saw, and tons of different sand papers! We like to make use of re-claimed wood, found items (roots, sticks and other interesting parts) to make unique, on-of-a-kind pieces. We will be evolving into making many of our own lampwork beads this summer and possibly expanded into wood/glass jewelry. Our full line consists of one-piece picture frames, bird houses, ornaments and more. Most of that is in hiatus until we return to Arkansas so we don't have to move all our equipment to Texas. Some may be added to Etsy from time to time if we bring some finished stock down for shows.

Hair sticks and combs are generally cut free hand, meaning there is no pattern. It is hand drawn on the wood, paper or not at all. Occasionally, we do make copies of our original designs which are all had sketched and kept, and modify them for a particular piece of wood. Most of the time the design changes as I work on them to capture discovered grains, color, or to avoid parts in the wood that can not be used. No two are ever exactly the same. They are then sanded into shape with 3 - 4 different stages and finished. Tops are made with a variety of artisan beads, Murano glass beads, crystal beads, up and re-cycled jewelry, or anything else I can find that is interesting.

Please visit our website for photo albums of past and present items, our place in Arkansas, and our ever demanding management team. If you see something you would like custom made, just ask!

Blank finished and unfinished sticks which can be used by do-it-yourselfers for hair sticks, shawl and sweater pins are also being added to the domain site at http://www.crockettmountainwoodworks.com/diy-hair-stick-and-shawl-pin-blanks.html

Our signature line of picture frames consists of hardwoods and cedar from our land and reclaimed wood thrown away by others. Our wood is cut, milled, planed, cured and worked right on our property. We also enjoy unique wood from other parts of the world and the U.S.

Take care with your items, wood will break if dropped on a hard surface.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your shopping experience.
