Debbie Dusenberry's Profile

About

I am a Kansas City native and opened my first brick and mortar store, Curious Sofa, in September of 2000 as a retail boutique specializing in a comfortable furnishings, uncommon objects and offbeat gifts. With an eye for buying and an unorthodox way of display, my staff and I lead Curious Sofa to be one of the nation's top small retailers and a destination shop for customers from across the country.

For ten successful years Curious Sofa was recognized by many local, trade and national publications which led to a strong following on the shop's website and blog. In January of 2011, I closed my 3,700 sf store to concentrate on internet sales only. Today my time is spent working my online stores and selling once a month at Top Hat Mercantile in the West Bottoms of downtown Kansas City during the First Friday event.
