Tim Curtin's Profile

About

Just a potter playing with mud and fire to bring imagination and whimsy to life. Decorative wine stoppers, Curly Creatures, urns, and more. Hand thrown, altered, & glazed - each piece is a unique and fun work of art!

I've been enjoying pottery since 2000 when I sat down at a wheel with a lump of clay and rediscovered the joy of creation. Since then I've been learning to twist clay, fire, and glazes into my own unique expressions. My favorite pieces are whimsical and entertaining, unique, and organic-looking. I prefer atmospheric glazing effects, but since much of my work is fragile, I'm finding ways to make normal glazes look extra-special. (But I'll take a nice raku firing over a cone 6 electric kiln any day!)

I hope you enjoy my creations as much as I do.
