HOW IT ALL BEGAN:

I spent my childhood in the beautiful wilds of rural West Virginia (USA) where I developed an intense love of nature. The flora and fauna of this beautiful land was an important part of my daily world in that time and place. HOW IT ALL BEGAN:

I spent my childhood in the beautiful wilds of rural West Virginia (USA) where I developed an intense love of nature. The flora and fauna of this beautiful land was an important part of my daily world in that time and place. Perhaps closest to my heart is my love of birds, which is evident in the art I have created since I formed my first art biz - The Crane’s Nest - in 1992. I started with birdhouses and birdfeeders from salvaged materials, and after attending classes at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in 2000 I began my exploration with ceramics and painting.

WHY I DO WHAT I DO:

Simply put, I am a passionate naturalist.

As a member of the National Wildlife Federation and the National Audubon Society I put my passion to work helping to support those causes, and I urge others to support them as well.
