DadsTeacups' Profile

About

It all started when I was 5 yrs. old and a little red strawberry teacup entered my life.

It was Christmas morning when my sisters and I all received a special surprise from Dad; he had purchased a teacup for each of us! Thus, a tradition was born and every Christmas Eve thereafter, Dad would peruse the gift shops of downtown Los Angeles, searching for that perfect teacup for Mom and his girls. He was a last minute shopper, but took pains in choosing a unique bone china cup and saucer for each of us. As we grew older, the designs became more sophisticated. We always looked forward with excitement to opening the beautifully gift wrapped, tell-tale square boxes on Christmas morning and seeing what Dad had chosen just for us! It was a ritual that went on for many years, and we all ended up with beautiful teacup collections.

It was a ritual that went on for many years, and we all ended up with beautiful teacup collections.

Married with four children of my own, I still enjoy that same collection today, and will never part with "Dad's Collection" as I refer to it...yes, it is safely displayed in my cupboard. Yet my affinity for beautiful tea-ware continues, so, in this shop, I have the opportunity to pass along similar and vintage finds much like were once gifted to me.

Named for Dad, this shop is in memory of a warm family man, a gentleman, and a strong, faithful, God-fearing man who created a legacy for his family much more important than possessions, yet who never forgot the meaning of a thoughtful gift given from the heart to his girls.

Please enjoy Dad's Teacups and hopefully, you too, might discover a vintage delight just waiting to re-frame for your family, friends or a special loved one! Come and visit anytime:)
