Dan is a landsape painter and writer, cartoonist, caricaturist. Moved to New England in the late '70's. Although always sketching, the George Bellows painting "The White Horse" in the Worcester Museum of Art was the first painting that inspired him enough to start painting in earnest after he received a BFA from UMass Amherst in 1987 and has been painting seriously since. Dan's main influences are the "Ashcan School" and the "American Scene" painters of that group and period, as well as the Seeing/Drawing philosophy of the Frederick Franck. Dan lives in the Fort Point Arts Community in the warehouse/harbor area of Boston. Annual Open Studios is always the 2nd weekend in October, we also have open studios/sales events in Dec. and May. Next one is May 10, 11, 12th - 2013 weekend!
