James' Profile

About

Hi, I'm James. I love traditional black and white photography. I have a darkroom in my basement where all my b&w prints are made, by hand, by me, on light sensitive, silvered paper. The process from taking the picture, developing it, and printing is all done by myself without any steps involving digitization save for displaying the print here.

The genres of photography I enjoy are a bit less specific. I like taking pictures that show civilization in a state of entropy. This is heavily influenced by urbex, though I'm always up for some rural exploration as well. Buildings that are abandoned, falling over, interiors, exteriors, etc interest me.

Another big area I enjoy is pinup. I like creating black and white images in the style of Gil Elvgren and Irving Klaw to name a couple. Pinup also brushes up against art nude, which I've been encroaching into…

Another big area I enjoy is pinup. I like creating black and white images in the style of Gil Elvgren and Irving Klaw to name a couple. Pinup also brushes up against art nude, which I've been encroaching into. A feel that's more interesting or beautiful than alluring is a goal that some of my work has.

Finally you'll also find some landscapes, lighthouses, still lifes, etc. I find trying new things, even though they're not a specialty, to be a rewarding process.

** I do my best to accurately depict finished prints however items may look different in person than on the screen. If you are unhappy with a print for any reason, return it, undamaged, within 2 weeks for a full refund (excluding shipping). As these are handmade prints some may exhibit artifacts from the printing process. **
