When John, Michael and I returned from Neverland I felt very strongly that the adventure we had been on should not be limited to just us. Of course, I knew I could not simply throw open our bedroom window and invite the world to fly out of it, but it dawned on me that books are always there to help us, and take us away. After some coaxing I enlisted the help of my brothers to start looking for wonderful, special, and unique books we could sell to those who love books as much as us.
Originally I wanted to call it Wendy's Firelight Reads, but John and Michael wanted to call it Lost Boys' Books (I told them that was a ridiculous name because people might think we only sell maps) so we finally settled on The Darling Book Shop. It has been a crazy wonderful experience and we are looking forward to bringing you special books that will bring you and others happy memories for years to come.
Some people have already asked if we still see Peter from time to time...
yes we do, he and Tinker Bell help procure wonderful books for us often. In fact, just before we opened Mr. Snee had heard we were opening a bookstore and decided that a good story was as good as gold.... okay, he didn't really say that. He still loves loot more than anything, but decided he wanted to try his hand at seeking out great books, so we are giving him a chance.
That being said, from time to time, you may see an odd title, but if it is something Mr. Snee is really passionate about, we'll probably offer it up anyway, as long as he didn't steal it.
You know, Peter once told me. "“You know that place between sleep and awake, that place where you still remember dreaming? That’s where I’ll always love you. That’s where I’ll be waiting.” I've found that the right story will always take you to that place too... and that book will always be there, to take you to that place whenever, and wherever you need it.
