I am a fiber artist and my passion is creating handmade felt items using wet felting techniques. While I have always enjoyed textile and fiber arts, my first experience with wet felting a few years ago was transformative.

wool + water + warmth + friction = magic!!

The qualities of wool continue to amaze and delight me. I use mostly merino top roving for my felt projects. But I also like trying out other wools (Finn/Icelandic, BFL, Cormo, Polwarth) and other natural fibers (silk, yak, camel, corn silk, soy silk). Each has its own special properties.

For surface design, silk is my favorite - whether silk fabric, silk threads or throwsters waste. Silk has a beautiful shine against the wool.

My "avatar" is a Flying Pink Pony, which I made for my nephew Brian. I made pre-felts for the body, folded in yarn for the wings and embellished the mane with silk, then I wet-felted it all into an 8" x 8" square.
