About

Jeannie:

I love luxury and feel every woman deserves to feel the luxury of silk against her skin and the heaviness of beads on the bottom of her skirt so that it moves on it's own when she walks. I have always loved fabric, lint, beads, lace but Blue Goddess taught me to wear it as armor. There is truth to wearing red lacy garters under your grey pinstripe suit gives you a sense of power. I have discovered being bold enough to show the world in full technicolor who you really are is the true measure of power, self worth, self confidence and freedom. I have worn fine sanded silks dripping with lace and trim that moves and beckons others to come see, come play, come learn trim that can only be known as "bait" I have wrapped myself in sari that brings out total feminine energy, I have worn leather strapped on a sword and stood on the table ready and willing to do battle as well…

I have worn fine sanded silks dripping with lace and trim that moves and beckons others to come see, come play, come learn trim that can only be known as "bait" I have wrapped myself in sari that brings out total feminine energy, I have worn leather strapped on a sword and stood on the table ready and willing to do battle as well as any warrior. My life is my canvas and it is draped in beautiful jewel tones. Bits of lace and ribbon and beads, oh yes beads drip and peek and flow from drawers, furniture knobs, curtain finals. I believe we all deserve the glamour of the 1940 movie stars, we deserve jewels and rare silk of exotic far away ports to help us define who we are. In a world that is tee shirts and jeans and clone prom and bridal dresses we need color, luxury and most of all the spirit it takes to express that we are not just a grey believers but joyous, seductive, independent and outrageous. I share my philosophy with women I meet who have never been given the opportunity to be anything except what some one else expects of them. We blossom and bloom when we embrace the extraordinary. I love to see women (men too!) when they find their voice and self from wearing the opulent styles, fabric, jewels, ornate and sedate with beads. We all deserve to live out loud and find who we truly are. I find my escape from the mundane in lint, fabric, color, beads and lace. I have dared to dress as my inner muse desires and it has freed me to become the artist, designer, creatrix which is my birth right and the birth right of every one who breathes and dreams to be more than just a drone.

I've done a bit of everything in my 6 plus decades so there's a big chance that we've got something in common: Drove a Kenworth conventional with a 5 and a 4 Brownie and Main from California to Canada on the fruit and nuts run; Lived 35 miles from the nearest civilized outpost without running water or electric for 6 years, cooked and heated with wood, wore spurs and a holster almost everyday as we took care of a herd of horses for the Wyoming race circuit; Have observed and written all my life; Fluxed my own lead and built my own bullets for quick draw and target shooting; Sky dived, belly danced, sang in nightclubs, editor for the last real alchemist in the US, certified journeyman chiaroscuro makeup artist and esthetician; Also a proud grad and certified alum of the Charter Hospital for the Mentally Unhinged; Camped the Chattooga in a waitress uniform with my dog Sam; And loved me a lot of men. I also have a tattoo older than many of you from my Woodstock days. I'm a great listener and truly enjoy meeting new friends.

I've been a professional costumer and designer of art clothing for over forty years.
My fiber art pieces have been in art shows and galleries in several states and many are in private collections. Big deal. The most important thing that we can crow about is that we help others on their path. I like lint. It's my life. I love to look at other's creativity and cheer them on. There's too much war and not enough beauty in the world. If the Pentagon took up crochet and needlepoint instead of munitions, we'd have lots more money to spend on important things like people. Education. Greening the world. Peace.
