Deirdre Cunningham's Profile

About

I'm in my 16th year of metalsmithing. I have studied and worked in varied environments, as well as having taught both adults and at-risk youth at beginner and intermediate levels.
My studio is bare bones and I rely on my mastery of skills to produce complicated pieces. My work is primarily one of a kinds, with occasional limited editions. The source for the imagery in my work comes from a collection of Botany texts spanning 1840-1930.
I live with 3 pointing dogs, and one husband. I enjoy hiking and canoeing as well as various other outdoor pursuits.
I also work in textiles, doing surface design, and some garment design and construction. My vintage collection is focused on linens and yardage as much as garments.
