It’s hot in the desert. Do not believe the statement “…but it’s a dry heat.” It may not be soupy out with 90% humidity, but 105’F is still hot! Despite the 105’ I still love living in the desert. I much prefer heat to cold (sorry Chicago). Plus the trade is Spring-like winter days.

So, obviously I am in the desert. I also love fabric and adding color to it. Hence, Desert Dyeworks.

All of the images used are originally designed by me, Kathy. My budding creative side-kick also helps with the process with input for the designs. Of course, my four-legged consultants have never turned up their noses either, but they give unconditional loyalty so I don’t think I can depend on their feedback. It’s nice to have the love though!

Hand-dyed items are dyed using quality Procion dyes. These are environmentally low-impact dyes. They give vibrant colors that are long-lasting and fade resistant because they actually become part of the fabric rather than just coloring the surface of the fabric.
