As a young girl I loved taking pictures and when I went off to summer camp I wrote home for money and FILM! My dad gave me my first roll of color film when we went to the1966 World's Fair in New York City and I still have the pictures !

I eventually studied photography at Cypress College in Southern California and did photograhy and darkroom work for many years. But one day my uncle told me his camera had accidentally fallen into the ocean and he knew it was ruined. He asked if I wanted it for anything and I did. This was my first chance to take apart a camera and not have to put back together !! It was a simple camera but it had some interesting parts inside. I eventually started combining them together into new designs. At first I only made artwork (assemblages) but now I make pieces that are functional.

When I first started doing this in the early 1990's, I had to go to swap meets and flea markets to find the old cameras. But now the internet has eliminated that chore and I have more sources. So I hope to be doing this for a long time.
