A warm welcome to FaceARTifacts!

My name is Deveon (Perrin) Spaeth and I am a mother of two, a maker, and woman of almost 30. I grew up in the woods and lakes of the gorgeous Finger lakes in New York. I had an incredible opportunity as a child to live as it was intended; immersed in Mother Nature. I love nothing more than to unearth, to uncover. Artifacts, dwellings, hidden truths, and parts of ourselves. Exploring is a fundamental to nourishing our souls and as I reach the third decade of my life, my aim is to continue exploring, to continue evolving, and to imbue my children with this longing to grow.

As a woman born into a culture that over sexualizes, undervalues, and marginalizes the true nature of women, my art is way to rebel. It is an expression of what I firmly believe women to be. We are powerful, magical, intuitive, and life giving. We are divine, wild, and ancient in our soul knowing. Much like the earth beneath our feet, a well nourished female soul has the power to spring forth life (both literally and spiritually).

As a woman, becoming a mother was the quintessential lesson of my own power. My body and soul nourished two unique human beings. I turned star dust into sentience. It was then I realized I am a powerful, creative force. All women are. We are an extension of Divine. This is why I make what I make.
