My career as a serious craft person, began almost thirty years ago when I began constructing and selling items in order to be able to stay at home as my husband and I raised our four daughters. Throughout the years I've worn out several sewing machines as my children played around my feet. Today I am still in love with sewing and crafting but some things have changed. Now I am wearing out machines as my grandchildren play under my feet!
Some people have been inquiring how I got my shop name. My shop name came from my Grandmother. "Dollbirdie" was a term of endearment she used when referring to my children. She used to say every new baby was a like a little "doddly-bird," because new babies cannot hold up their heads, and they "doddle" and bounce like little baby birds in a nest.
