UPDATE:
As of September 2013, I am studying full-time for a Graduate Diploma in Metalwork Conservation at West Dean College in England. Because of this, the studio time required for all made-to-order pieces has increased to one week. Thank you for your patience!

I've been honing my craft as a metalsmith since 2005 and received my B.F.A. in Metals from the University of Washington in 2008. I love being able to saw, hammer, solder and sand a deceptively unyielding material into something wearable and beautiful. A pretty manicure doesn't last very long on me, unfortunately!

I've been honing my craft as a metalsmith since 2005 and received my B.F.A. in Metals from the University of Washington in 2008. I've been a bookworm and history buff even longer, in particular adoring books that made the past come alive. It's often the small details that make history vividly memorable - descriptions of the scent of pitch and river mud and crocodiles lounging in the sun, the way a woman peers into a small, candlelit mirror to comb her long hair, a medieval fair where silk ribbons are sold and mud covers everyone's shoes.

This collection was born from my love of metal and stories. My focus is not on producing exact historical jewelry replicas, but interpreting and distilling snippets of history and literature into wearable art for smart, modern women.

When I'm not researching or in the studio, I hang with feline royalty - Louis XIV and William of Orange. I make lists. I drool over fashion (Rachel Comey, Dries Van Noten, and Comme des Garcons are favorites). I bake. I trawl Etsy for interesting, handmade shoes.
