Thank you for choosing Doxology Designs! You may be wondering what this whole "Doxology" thing is about? Well, let's start at the very beginning..... I come from a family of artists and craftspeople, therefore I have been an artist since........well, birth! Ok, really, it all began at the age of four. My Mom and older sister took art lessons from a lovely woman who lived just down the street and around the corner from us in a cool stone house. (The memory of the studio there~the smell of oil and kneaded eraser is still so vivid in my mind...like a dream) Boy, was I jealous that I wasn't able to go to! Why? She didn't accept students until the age of six. That was two very long years of waiting let me tell you, and after much persistence the day had finally come and I too got to step into that quaint little studio in her basement, sit on the tall studio chairs and learn all about warm and cool colors with a pan of watercolors. And…

And thus it all began.....
Since then, I have come a long way with a degree in painting and illustration as well as a BFA in metalsmithing. I have had very traditional, classical style training and am so proud of that! It has certainly given me the basis to venture through many different mediums and still portray that Core base I have been raised on as an artist. With that being said, you will see that there will always be a variety of things to choose from in my store. I dabble in a lot of different mediums to keep things fresh and new for myself. The one consistent thing in my work however is my inspiration: The greatest Creator of all time ~ I specialize in re-creating God’s Natural Wonders, and thus became Doxology Designs: “ Praise God, from Whom all Blessings Flow”. He has gifted me with talents and I hope to utilize them to gift others, all to His glory. Whether it is my most obvious natural renderings that capture his great artistry, or the sheer satisfaction of creating objects using the talents He has blessed me with, it is all with His praise and plan in mind.

A little more about me: Besides working a few other part time jobs, I am a full time Mommy ~ the most wonderful, fulfilling, and inspirational job of all. I could go on and on about my precious little man, but in short, the experience of raising this amazing child has re-kindled my creative spirit and allowed me the opportunity to now share my work with the world. Bless you, Elijah.
It must be noted that I am also an adoptive Mommy to two fabulous little mini dachsunds...who also provide me with endless smiles and inspiration.... (You may notice my obsession with long slender forms in my designs from time to time :0) Dually note the Pun to "Doxology" for my sweet little doxies.
And last but certainly not least, I have an absolutely incredibly talented husband who also happens to be an artist......a painter gone super stinkin Rockin' Portrait Photographer. You can check his work out @ www.the-portrait-gallery.com and you will see exactly what I am talking about! He constantly blows me away......what a gift he has been given, and how grateful we are.

So, stay tuned to my site as new ideas are brewing all the time! And hey, thanks again for your interest and support of an independent artist!
