About

Writer, jewelry maker, and artist - I've got a diverse range of interests. ^.^ Anything that smacks of fantasy or history (or is shiny or changes colors) is bound to catch my interest.

[I'll be updating this soon since I'm moving.]

I live in a three-story Victorian revival that is about a hundred years old and painted like a doll house (the doing of my father and my uncle). I now have a corner of the attic that has become my studio (largely thanks to a new cat, who decided that 1) his purpose in life is to knock things over, 2) chainmail is the best toy in the world, and 3) chainmail rings are yummy). In the past, my chainmail "workshop" (a green fold-up table) tended to wander as need dictated (which usually meant taking up all the space in front of the computer so I could plant myself on hulu and netflix while working ^_^; )…

I've done my chainmailing/scalemailing at local parks, at my siblings' school, by the sidelines of the soccer field, and once during one of my little sister's concerts. One of my college friends was still finding stray rings in a few classrooms the year after I graduated.

I taught myself how to chainmail through internet tutorials during spring break my senior year of college. I was stuck at school and had nothing better to do than to play with little jump rings and the travel set of jewelry tools I'd gotten for Christmas. On choir tour that year, I ended up making little pieces of jewelry for the host families I stayed with, and that was when I got the little *click* of "Hey! I like doing this!"

The models for my miniature jewelry are Lallia and Tom. Lallia is a beautiful Nabi Kiss ball jointed doll from Garden of Dolls (their Etsy shop can be found here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/gardenofdolls?ref=ss_profile). Tom is a Zhuquing by Illusion Spirit.
