i like to collect wool remnants from a famous oregon woolen mill that's nearby (my favorites are the discarded but lovely edges -- called headers -- of their world-class blankets) and then, being a descendent of irish tailors and bohemian merchants, I can't stop myself from stitching them into things to sell.
i've recently added a vintage corner to my shop and will be filling it with vintage what-nots from europe and some americana too. keep checking back!
dunny galleger, the name itself, is a patchwork of the towns my mother and father come from: donegal in the northwest of ireland; and eger, czechoslovakia, known now as cheb in the czech republic. my irish grandfather had a tailoring shop on the diamond, the center of donegal town. and my dad, as a boy, lived with his parents and grandparents above the family fabric…
