People often ask about the name Duryea Place (pronounced dur-ee-ey) and where it originates from. When I met my husband in college, the street he lived on was Duryea Place. From the start I just loved it and when I started this business I thought it would be fitting to name my business after the place where our story began and so, Duryea Place Designs was born.
Planning my own wedding led to this shop... I had very specific ideas of what I wanted my invitations, programs, ceremony and reception decor and other details to look like, but after searching high and low and not finding anything that met my needs, I decided to make my own ideas a reality. Over the years I have added birthday decor and other party supplies.
Other random bits about me:
When I was in high school, I fell in love with depression glass and that quickly snowballed into my love for all things vintage. My perfect day involves good coffee and perusing antique and thrift stores.
I was born and raised in Illinois, but my heart craves the mountains.
I have the cutest and sweetest Boston Terrier, Zoey.
