W. A. Francis' Profile

About

Early on in life I realized my connection with all things wood. After a brief formal education in Forestry, I worked for 30 years in the building industry as a finish carpenter. I became acutely aware of the waste and mismanagement of lumber and wood products. I resigned myself to do what I could with a home based recycling project. My love of gardening and plants in general coupled with my craft was the inspiration for ECOGRO. Each of my creations utilizes lumber reclaimed from demolition and salvage operations. My desire is to build beautiful, functional, ecologically sound products for the growing community. Each item is rustic by nature and necessity, yet all are pleasing to the eye and the soul. I've truly come full circle and now find myself doing exactly what inspired me in my youth.
