Diane Russell's Profile
I have been hand engraving for over 25 years.
I was taught this beautiful art at a school in Quincy Illinois.
Hand engraving started in about the 17th century. It is a one of a kind art form that is almost lost today.
I make all my own tools and hand draw out my designs. Old world craftsmanship at its best!
Keeping up with the times, I now offer machine type engraving done on a pantograph, this type of engraving was introduced around 1950. I use a diamond stylus and trace letters.
With the invention of computers and lasers, this too is becoming a lost art.
Both forms are considered 'green' engraving
My latest venture is hand stamping
I think personalized gifts are The BEST!
