About

Hi and welcome into my shop, Earthly Desires!

My name is Jennifer and I have been crafting copper enameled art items for about 10 years. I love it! I'll keep the process simple: Copper enameling is the art of applying enamel to copper and heating it in a 1500-degree kiln anywhere from 1 to 4 minutes. The piece can be fired only once or twice or many times, to get just the right effect. Enamel is actually glass and it comes in a variety of forms-powder, lumps and threads. The powder is sifted or painted ("wetpacked") on to the copper, while the lumps and threads are placed on to the copper. The copper form can either be a preformed or customized shape. I typically use preformed shapes for my jewelry and I customize shapes for my for pictures.

In addition to enameling, I also like to make wire jewelry, acrylic paintings, knit, crochet fiber crafts, photography and organic gardening--oh and be outside as much as possible (when it's WARM!!!) If you are local, you can find some of my smaller items at The Ohio Art Market in Westerville and Galleria Evangelia in Clintonville.

I have sold my pieces locally and finally decided it was time to hit the cyber world, so here I am!! Please come visit me often and let me know what you like. : )

I do ship outside of the U.S. please convo me with your location and I can calculate shipping for you! : )
