About

Hi! I'm Jackie, and I'm a 28-year-old bookseller at Half Price Books. I've been working with our collectible books for a few years, and I've really enjoyed it. That is probably what sparked my interest in vintage items in general.

Like most vintage sellers and collectors, I love the "treasure hunt" aspect of it. I find most of my items in thrift stores; I feel like I'm rescuing them! I try to look past the layers of grime to really see the beauty of a piece; there are some items in my shop that I was hesitant to even touch, but I cleaned them up, and they are some of the most stunning items I have!

I like to think of myself as a matchmaker: helping people unite with the pieces they have been searching for. :o)

Or maybe it's more like an animal shelter: I rescue "strays" from the cast-offs at the thrift stores, I clean them up, and I unite them with owners who will love them and care for them like they deserve. So corny, I know. :o)

I really wanted to open a shop because I wanted to be an active member of the Etsy community- contributing, rather than just shopping. I've dabbled in all kinds of crafts and materials, but I chose to open a vintage shop for the reasons I've previously mentioned.

I would like, however, to eventually get back into making stained glass- probably my favorite craft thus far. And my long-term goal is to use my Etsy profits to purchase a nice glass kiln so I can get into fusing.
