About

My life is full of adventure and creativity. Retirement couldn't be better if I'd planned it.

In 2008 I picked up my first bead in a costume design class for the dolls I had made. Later I made some kitchen magnets and again embellished them wish beads. My sweet sister suggested I make some rings with my knowledge of working with clay. A disaster, I must admit but that experiment led me down the beaded path of which I had never thought of taking.

Art, in many forms, has been a constant in my life. From the 4th grade on I knew I would always create. Mom taught her girls all the various avenues of hand work and enrolled me in advanced art classes. I've painted in water color and oil on canvas and many forms of quilting. I've also worked in advertising art and painted portraits of people and their pets…

Most of my year is spent in my studio beading the hours away and listening to talk radio or my favorite music. Sometimes I don't know what day it is or where the day went. When I travel from my home, on the West Coast of the United States, I like to visit the home of my ancestors in England. I have the best tour guide possible. He is my sweetheart, best friend and cousin 8 generations removed from our common ancestor. When Bill comes to Oregon we usually put between 2,000 and 5,000 miles on the car visiting friends and family and my girls who live East of the Rocky Mountains. On these summer trips I've seen far more of the US, through Bill's eyes, than I ever thought I would in this lifetime.

When I travel I take my laptop and finished pieces with me so I can post sales from wherever I am. I also travel with as many beads as possible so I can work from our many destinations. I've been known to leave a trail of loose beads from here to Dover. England.

I've crammed a lot of learning into a few sort years and my bead work is still evolving. I think I can say I am self taught but only because of online videos and Utube. I like to create my own ideas but still like to try a pattern from a book or website and when I do I always give them credit. Each adventure into a different way of doing a piece has been a jump in my learning curve.

As of this date, April 9th, 2012 I am just now starting up my Etsy shop. So drop by from time to time and see what I'm up to.. It is my goal to make timeless pieces and occasionally incorporate new and exciting ideas. Hopefully you will enjoy browsing through my beaded art work and possible find something you will cherish and wear for years to come.
