A ardent admirer of the visual arts and nature, I am enthralled by the beauty of the natural world and artisans' works of art. I seek to capture and portray my vision of nature and its impermanence in the forms of botanical portraits, structural and architectural elements, light and shadow, reflections, as well as fruit and vegetables usually found in markets. I am also interested in photographing sumptuous and vibrant textiles.

In addition to being a photographer, I am an art historian with a background in Modern and Asian art and an educator licensed to teach art history and fine art. As part of my Master's degree, I studied the history of photography. I have been taking digital photographs for over five years, and launched my note cards series in 2012 and calendars in 2013.

My earlier years were spent handling and writing catalogs about works of art at a Chinese antique art gallery, volunteering at MoMA, and as a visual arts publicist liaising with photographers, art museums, galleries, publishers, art fairs, as well as with curators and artists promoting exhibits in photography, painting, design, architecture and sculpture. I worked at The Metropolitan Museum of Art promoting and enhancing visitors' experiences at the museum.

My artistic vision includes, but is not limited to botanical portraits, lacquer, textiles, patterns, geometry, sculptural, structural, as well as architectural and design elements, which I often further enhance with macro (up close) photography. Geometrical shapes and patterns, and the subsequent breakdown of those patterns into abstraction, both in nature and made objects intrigue me, as well as reflections, and light and shadow. I photograph with a Canon EOS XS Rebel and a 75 to 300 zoom lens.
