About

A branch runs around our place...a branch that spills into Elm Creek. Like a moat, it separates us from the roads that corner the place. The bottom land in front of it is a favorite spot for the cattle, deer and coyotes, a spot I watch every day from the front porch. Folks around here say ellum in place of elm. We need to cut down that ellum tree today. Thus the shop is named after the land that is our homeplace.

My shop is a dichotomy, not unlike the branches that fork from the creek. I've never been able to say which is first in my heart - art or vintage cowboy boots. Silly, but the boots are so-o exciting to find, the stitching patterns, the inlays... and the painting can be so quieting, the composition, the soft emotion.
