~~~~~ More of my story~~~~~~
From my earliest memories, I have been fascinated with gems and minerals. I became a rock hound long before I knew what a rock hound was. That fascination and love of stones lead me to take up beading in early 2004. By late 2006, my passion had found a new outlet in wire wrapping. Not satisfied with my availability of stones to wire wrap, I decided to learn how to cut cabochons in 2007.
While working with my cabochons, I discovered that I tend cut for beauty rather than convention. This process has allowed me to cut quite a few one of a kind stones. I have employed my wire wrapping techniques to incorporate my designer cabochons within my jewelry designs.
I love working with precious metals and stones, but I have also discovered another amazing medium I enjoy working with; stained glass. I am enamored by the richness of color and texture that can be found within stained glass. This medium has inspired me to create beautiful earrings from left over scraps.
In 2008 I became a first time mom. Being sleep deprived and lacking time, I needed to find another outlet for my creative energies. The solution was to create hand forged sterling silver jewelry. This technique has allowed me to find serenity within the simplicity of design. All of these techniques; wire wrapping, cabochon cutting, stained glass, and hand forging metals; are allowing me to find new inspirations as my designs evolve.
