About

Hi, My name is Rachelle of "Eternally Optimistic Jewelry".

Eternally Optimistic Jewelry was born out of my need to create. I love working with my hands, learning new processes and techniques to create beautiful, wearable art.
When one of my jewelry pieces speaks to a customer’s heart my own heart overflows with joy and gratitude.

A lot of thought and soul searching goes into deciding on a name for a business.
In early 2009 I landed on Eternally Optimistic Jewelry. Our 9 year old Manson, Washington born Golden Retriever, Judy Jane (aka JJ ) is the inspiration. (Yes, she’s named for the sorely missed Judy Jane Bakery in Chelan.) She has the attitude that all things in life have been created for her to enjoy: I get to go for a ride?, That bone is for me?, It’s time for dinner?, You came to see me?, We’re…

(Yes, she’s named for the sorely missed Judy Jane Bakery in Chelan.) She has the attitude that all things in life have been created for her to enjoy: I get to go for a ride?, That bone is for me?, It’s time for dinner?, You came to see me?, We’re going swimming?! Do you love me as much as I love you?! She’s full of gratitude for everything placed in front of her and is always hopeful that there is more out there to enjoy, experience and share. I try to emulate her enthusiasm for life and hopefully some of that fabulous energy is impregnated into my jewelry.

By mid 2009 my family jumped at the opportunity to relocate to Singapore sight unseen. It was then that my jewelry business took flight. With more time on my hands and abundant inspiration from amazing SE Asia art, I set up a true studio and devoted my energy to learning and creating. I work with a variety of mediums and techniques: Precious Metal Clay – 99.9% Pure Silver, Metal Smith work with Silver, Copper and Brass, Enameling on Silver and Copper, Glass Fusing, Stone Setting and Lost Wax Casting, Designing, Engraving and Cutting Metal Clay using a Scrapbooking Machine (who knew?). The more skills I learn and practice the more effectively I can execute an idea for a design to an actual jewelry piece. Fortunately, there will always be more to learn.

After 6 years overseas we have relocated back to the Pacific Northwest and are enjoying our homes on both sides of the mountains. Even after all the amazing places we’ve traveled to and experienced, Chelan is still at the top of our list of “Favorites”.

I have created many favorite pieces of jewelry, but I think my favorite is still
“Aurora’s Cottage”. My dear cousin passed away while I was designing and working on this piece and I dedicated it to her. She was all about family, home, love and caring for all the people she came in contact with. This Tiny Cottage Ring has a working hinged front door, a back door that is always open, a comfy porch swing, flowering vines, an overflowing window box, a cozy fireplace chimney and a hidden heart imprinted with “Family” dangling in the interior. It speaks to my heart and is a constant reminder of her love and her Auroraisms that trickle through my thoughts.
