Hello and welcome!
Hailing from Brooklyn, New York and currently residing in Kuwait City, Kuwait, Everly Calligraphy is a modern full service calligraphy business, based on the idea that calligraphy does not have to be overly formal, stuffy or prohibitively expensive.

I started Everly because of my love of handwritten text, my interest in design, typography and a passion for hand made, creative things. A hand made business card, a place card, envelope or invitation elicits a response like none other in the day and age dominated by digital correspondences like texting and emailing.

After planning my own wedding, and a helping a few friends plan their weddings, I realized that there are few options for calligraphy that are not incredibly formal, or options that are feasible for the average person within the average budget. Everly Calligraphy can provide you with beautiful and memorable calligraphic elements included in your next event, without you spending an exorbitant amount of money.

I am happy to work with you to create a custom font to be used for your next event, to provide you with a digital copy of text to be printed on your own, or a stamp that you can use on all of your future correspondences. I am more than willing to work with wedding planners, event designers and brides.

Policies:

Choosing Paper:
There is an additional charge for opaque or thick paper. Some paper will take ink very well, and some will not. I would recommend consulting me before you purchase your stationery as to ensure you do not buy something that is very hard to work with.
Materials Allowance:
I also require a 15% materials allowance (i.e.: If you need 100 envelopes written, I will require you present me with 115 envelopes - everyone makes mistakes!). I will of course return all unused materials.
How it Works:
After we have talked about a font and style that you like, I will provide you with three samples of work, via a .pdf or .jpg file. A final proof will be approved by you before I start. If at all possible, I would like to do these samples on the stationary that you have chosen, as to determine how the paper will take to ink, so please try and provide me with a stationary sample. Using gauche ink I can match nearly any color, and can work with metallics also.
Names & Addresses:
Please submit a list of names and addresses exactly as you wish them to be written - please be careful about punctuation, abbreviations, capitalization, and spelling. If you are unsure about, or have an incomplete address, leave it at the bottom of your list, and I will check back in with you. The names and addresses should be in a word document, an excel spreadsheet or a .pdf, in legible type.


Please allow about two weeks after the final proof has been approved for envelope addressing. For an additional fee, I will accept rush orders.
