About

Hello! My name is Victoria Takahashi, I'm a Seattle, Washington born native.
I started making jewelry in 1993. I took 2 quarters at a local community college, and for about 3 years traded work study for jewelry classes at Pratt FIne Arts Center a non-profit art school. Since that first class at NSCC I just fell in love. I was very fortunate and got really positive and honest and supportive responses from friends and family, then it seemed to take hold of me. About

The metalsmithing was such a broad creative outlet, always something new & exciting to learn and explore. I of course have my fingers in a lot of different honey pots today but metalwork will always be my first love!

Since I experiment a lot with techniques and form, I consider myself pretty much self-taught, for I have no real formal training. I really enjoy making different things. I have found that I get bored if I have to make the same thing more than a couple of times, so I try my hardest not to! One of my biggest high is when I start making a piece and it gets to the point where you just cannot put it down like a great book! Yes that's what I'm talking about, I just love those days (evenings & sunrise) in my studio!!!

Thank you!
Victoria
