After a childhood spent traveling around Southeast Asia, I finished high school in Irving, Texas. During my final year I apprenticed to a local silversmith who ran her own studio (with over a thousand clients), a natural next step as part of an enduring fascination with arts, crafts, and sparkly things. I now work full-time at a nonprofit in rural central Virginia, where I help support other artists in search of creative space and time. On every other Thursday I am designer-in-residence at a local shop.

I am a fangirl of John William Waterhouse, Arthur Rackham, the scent of jasmine and lilies, BBC costume dramas, Sherlock Holmes, Noa Noa, Elisabeth Louise Vigee Le Brun, antique mirrors, chandeliers, John Keats, Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, U2, teddy bears, Art Nouveau/Art Deco, velvet capes lined with satin, masks, fairytales, blank books, vampires, The Historian, Gothic arches, Titian's "Sacred and Profane Love", Malbec, Single Malts, black tea, heavy cream, crispy bacon, and dark chocolate.
