I've been a crafter/designer for many years and have tried various arts: sewing, soap-making, candle-making, jewelry, candy making, quilting... you name it. Some have been more successful than others (soap-making didn't work out so well for me).
In my "spare" time, I enjoy crafting for various charity projects. I'm involved with sewing lapquilts for veterans, pillowcases for the pediatric section of a local cancer center, little dresses for little girls in Africa, and most recently (thanks to my daughter!), I am now making beds/pads for the cat sanctuary she volunteers at.
I am a grateful breast cancer survivor since late 2007. I also "survived" being confined to the bottom level of my home for three months while recuperating from a badly broken leg in 2009. THE longest three months of my life!
