Fayrouz Jewelry's Profile

About

I have a Moroccan father and a British mother and have lived in and travel to Morocco frequently. The intricate filigree, the vibrancy of the Moroccan colour palate and pleasing geometric designs all illustrate my Moroccan heritage. My jewelry supplies and pieces are a fusion of this traditional beauty with a contemporary edge.

Fayrouz is the Arabic word for turquoise, a clean, calm coloured semi-precious stone that has roots in ancient civilizations. It embodies the concept of my collection with some of my pieces featuring this beautiful stone.

Moroccan silver is widely used in the south of Morocco in Berber jewelry and more elaborate Bedouin pieces. Whilst many of my supplies have been sourced from the medinas of the main cities most originate from Tiznit, a city close to the Western Sahara.
