Born and raised in the East Bay, Katharine Jolda went to Arizona and spent several years on the Navajo Nation involved in sheepherding, farming, and health education. She developed a teaching practice for ancient arts, focusing on felt and natural dyes. With a BS in Political Science and Economics, she understands her work as a constructive direct action, the rebuilding of social/ecological relationships. She is a collaborating artisan on the Fibershed Project and works for a variety of youth education programs.
