Chuck Domitrovich's Profile

About

My name is Chuck Domitrovich and I have been making and selling jewelry for about 17 years now.

I stumbled into jewelry while attending the University of Washington, which at the time had an excellent metals program (sadly, no more!). I was taking art classes to fill holes in my class schedule. One quarter I ended up taking an Intro to Jewelry class. At the time I was skeptical about taking it because I knew nothing about jewelry and had little interest in it. But I did take it and I have never looked back.

The basic jewelry skills came really easy to me. I loved the small scale and I loved working with the tools that jewelers use. Metal was the perfect medium for my skill set-- patience and attention to detail.

My style tends to involve mixed metals and moving parts. In my work I like to involve geometric shapes and explore the proportions between different elements. I like it when something just 'feels right'. I love tribal and classical jewelry and I try to incorporate both styles into my own work.

I am a member of SNAG, the Seattle Metals Guild, and EtsyMetal. I sell on Etsy and ArtFire, as well as a number of small galleries in Seattle and around the country.

I am currently spending my non-jewelry time working on a children's book which was totally unexpected but loads of fun. With any luck I will be able to get it published and kick start a second career as a writer.
