After working as a caseworker for 30 years, I took an early retirement and started working more seriously in pottery. I had taken several pottery workshops off and on while working.
Now that I'm retired, I still attend as many workshops as I can on an ongoing basis as this is a continual learning experience for me.
All my work is intuitive and spontaneous and without any pre-planning or sketching. I can be inspired by anything that catches my eye. During the decorative process, I can spend many hours on one piece and many times I use several colors in some of my designs. Constructing a piece of clay work can be “down and dirty”, but the love and feel of being one with the clay doesn't require staying clean. When I open the kiln after firing my work, it feels like Christmas once again…
