Hello and Welcome!

FORGOTTEN ART CARDS was born when I accidentally came across a treasure trove of amazing vintage art posters, turn of the century advertisements and old illustrations in a used book store. I had never seen art like this before and decided to do some research in historic art archives.

For instance, I found out that from 1900 until the 1920's, talented artists created the concept of the "AMERICAN BEAUTY" -- young, lovely, confident women who were full of life. The enormous growth of magazines and newspapers at the beginning of the 20th century gave these American Beauties an essential role in the early days of advertising. You can discover our cards depicting these ladies in our AMERICAN BEAUTIES COLLECTION.

THE PINK LADY COLLECTION -- These cards are derived from French fashion plates from the late 1700's illustrating the very latest styles for the fashionable and well-to-do women of that era. But THESE LADIES aren't just PRETTY LADIES -- oh, no, they have something to say! If you really want to laugh, check out these hip Marie Antoinette beauties spouting 21st century witticisms!

THE JANE AUSTEN COLLECTION -- I am most proud of our Jane Austen greeting cards. “It is a truth universally acknowledged...” that Jane Austen knew what to say and how to say it. Now you can say it, too, with our lovely ladies quoting the fabulous Jane Austen. These cards are especially for all you "Janeites" out there (I'm a Janeite, too!).

Forgotten Art Cards has 10 different vintage card collections:

"American Beauties", "Pink Ladies", "Jane Austen", "Children", "Christmas", "Valentines" and a very special grouping of drop-dead gorgeous "Halloween" cards (sending Halloween cards was very popular in the early 1900's.) Other collections are "Theater/Circus Girl", "Travel and Vintage Art Posters", "Campaign Girls",

Each Forgotten Art Card is blank inside and ready for your own personal message. They come with a white envelope and both the card and envelope are enclosed in a clear cellophane card wrapper.

I hope you enjoy our Forgotten Art Cards. Please feel free to drop me a line if you like, I'm always happy to talk about cards or anything!
