Welcome to Foundry Design. From my workshop in Evanston, Illinois, I produce clothing from original designs. I make each piece from recycled knits and fabrics I find in local thrift stores that support charitable causes, as well as from other sources. Like a foundry casting new objects from mixed metals, my aim is to produce beautiful things for you to wear from found materials – well-made, with distinctive detailing and craftsmanship you won’t find in mass-produced clothing, while we take better care of our world in the process.
I only use the best wools, cashmere, mohair, alpaca, angora and some blends in my designs, which hint at other cultures, travel and literature. By day, I am a freelance writer who covers business, as well as arts and culture for magazines.
