Marea Olafson's Profile

About

I am a high school art teacher, that is presently on maternity leave with my second daughter. I love throwing pottery on the wheel and finally got back to creating right before giving birth to my daughter. My name for my store comes from the combination of my two daughters names; Freyja and Ebba.

I also quilt and sew, and have done many other art forms over the years; stainglass, and photography. I found my passion when I began taking classes in pottery. My Amma (icelandic for grandma) had thrown on the wheel when I was growing up and she used to sign her pieces with an N and a circle around it - her initials; thus I sign all my pieces with a M and a circle around it; the traditional carries on.

I have been teaching for 16 years and love teaching art and history. In my free time I get to create and love escaping to my "little" studio!
