I grew up in a "carpenter family". I remember summer projects with my uncles and, later, doing small carpentry projects for neighbors and family to make extra money as a kid. As the years passed, I took on large carpentry jobs to earn a living and to put myself through college, and then used my hard earned degree.......... to become a carpenter.
I started my career with framing and home building before I moved in to fine trim carpentry work. I worked with some awesome oldtimers and learned traditional ways of carpentry, joinery, tusk tenons, mortises, sold wood construction - old school quality.
The local lumber mill fascinated me. The way they could cut those logs,the way you could have grain patterns, quarter sawn, flat sawn, rift sawn.....but I digress. I realized I had found a passion for the wood and the way it spoke to me. Not for the mass produced lumber for…
