Jennie Eilerts' Profile

About

Hi everyone! I took the better part of a year off to get things back in order. I'd lost partial use of my right hand/arm due to an injury in July 2010 and then an auto accident in November. Things are back up and running, though!

I was born and raised in Santa Fe, NM. My husband and I live in a suburb of Santa Fe. We run a small hybrid auto repair and maintenance shop. This is where I have had the opportunity to expand my work space over the past year. It's wonderful!

I learned the basics of jewelry and metalsmithing in college and the rest has been self-taught. During my time in vet medicine, three little weasel-men entered my life and set up residence in my home; they are the inspiration for my store's name. Ferrets have this amazing way of finding delight in anything and everything they do or encounter. They have such an enthusiasm…

They have such an enthusiasm for life and its little frivolities... a quality I envy greatly!

THE BORING STUFF...
SHIPPING
I ship via USPS First Class Mail, unless we have made prior arrangements. Delivery Confirmation is included, and I will provide you with the confirmation number so you can keep an eye on its whereabouts. If an order is over $50.00, it will be insured(it is available on ANY order, so please don't hesitate to ask). On large orders, I will sometimes ship Priority Mail. If an item is ready-made, it will ship within two business days. If it is a custom size or request, it will typically take me 2 - 5 days before shipping, but I will always let you know what to expect as far as timing goes.

RETURNS and EXCHANGES
I understand sometimes things just don't look the same in person as they do online, so I'm happy to offer the option of returning or exchanging an item. There is a 10% restocking fee for all returns on non-custom items, unless we've discussed different arrangements. Returns are accepted for refund (less shipping fees), but the request must be received within 5 days of receipt and the item is in the same condition as when it was sent (i.e. unworn/unaltered and resaleable). I highly recommend items be returned with some traceable form of shipping, as I will not be held responsible for items that are lost or go astray between your point and mine. Refunds will only be issued once the item(s) have been returned and have arrived here in the above requested condition. Refunds will be issued within 30 days of receipt of the item back in the studio. If something arrives defective, please let me know right away! I will make it a priority to address the issue.

Exchanges can be made within 30 business days, provided the item is in the same condition as when it was shipped. The purchase price of the item will be your credit. Shipping fees are not included in the total you can use toward an exchange. I don't charge a restocking fee for exchanges, but nominal shipping charges will apply.

To be sure that everything falls into place, please contact me for return instructions. I am always happy to work with you to make sure you are satisfied with our transaction.

PACKAGING
NEW PACKAGING, LESS IMPACT
I have decided to start using less packaging for all jewelry. Most items will be placed in a zip top bag and carefully wrapped in bubble wrap. Some items will arrive in recycled Kraft jewelry gift boxes. I can't justify creating yet more plastic rubbish for the landfills. If you require a velvet presentation box, though, please convo me. I will keep them available, but won't be using them as a standard means of packaging. Bubble mailers are almost always new, unless I've had one come in with an item and it is still in good condition. I am in the process of trying to find a good source for bubble mailers made of recycled materials.

Please don't ever hesitate to contact me for any reason. My e-mail address is jennieeilerts [!at] gmail.com, or you can convo me right here on Etsy. I can also be reached via phone at 505-501-9796.
