As a young girl I would sit and watch my mother sew. I loved watching the movement of her hands, listen to the purring of her old Bernina 830 and touch the dial as it spun round and round. I would even try my hand at it occasionally; making bags or purses (anything with pockets). In college I expanded my sewing skills and took a few clothing construction and home decor sewing classes, but eventually my machine got pushed to the back of the closet.
It wasn't until spring of 2009, before my twins were born, that I began sewing again when I decided I wanted to make each of my babies a quilt. I loved it!
Before long I was sewing whenever I got the chance. I was worried I wouldn't have any time once my babies arrived. Thankfully they were both very sleepy babies.
