About

I am a woman with diverse interest and skills. Some of my roles in life are quilter, artist, mother, wife, healer and runner. I live in southern Idaho, where I spend the majority of my days cutting, sewing and quilting in my studio.
When I was little and asked what I wanted to be when I grew up my answer was: An artist and a mother. I am grateful and blessed to be both and so much more. I have a degree in Textiles and Design from Colorado State University and worked in the garment industry for a few years until I met my husband. After the birth of our first child I decided to stay home with our children. I love the domestic life and found it to be a fulfilling job. I also did tailoring work on the side.

I started quilting in the early 1980’s and have never looked back. It is a diverse medium that allows me to create and experiment. I have a thirst for knowledge and I love to share my knowledge and creativity with others. As a people person, I have been involved with many quilt organizations and shows, and also teach a variety of quilt related classes.
I worked at a quilt shop as a longarm quilter for a few years and found a passion for quilting. It allows me to bring the quilt to life and I get to draw with thread all over the quilt. What fun! I now own a quilt machine and work on reducing my stash of quilt tops.
The quilting industry today is so diverse. If you are interested in home interior and home décor there is an amazing variety of fabrics by top home interior and quilt designer’s which I can use to create custom one of a kind quilts. My traditional home and bedroom quilts are made to be used and allow me to combine art and function.
As an artist I paint with fabric. I incorporate my healing skills to layer and infuse my art work at many levels. I focus on sacred art which speaks to a person’s soul journey. For me everything filters through the divine and I use my artistic talents to manifest that. I have had my art quilts in galleries and one person quilt shows in a variety of venues.
I am a quilt and textile historian and find inspiration from those who came before me.
Running has been a constant throughout my life. I started in college and now my kids are in college and I am still at it. I tend to be a woman of passion and give my heart and soul to that which I focus on. Balance of my mind, body, spirit and soul allows me to use my passion in healthy ways.
