About

I began taking carving lessons over 10 years ago, and it's something that I still actively pursue, getting together with other carvers several times a month.

I carve almost daily. I find it a relaxing way to end my day and I enjoy the process of pulling characters and faces out of basswood and golf balls. I'm inspired by other caricature carvers, but I like to add my style and humor into my work.

My wife, www.etsy.com/people/Torm here on Etsy, has shopped on Etsy for several years now and has been convincing me to give selling my work a go. She photographs my work and does the listings and wordings for me, thereby motivating me to create more.

We are both here to answer any questions you may have.

Thank you for stopping by!

FAQS:

Q: Are the balls painted?
A: No. I enjoy a surprise each time I crack a ball open. The color and texture of each ball is different. The color often has an influence on what type of face I carve.

Q: Are the golf balls recycled?
A: Most often, this is the case. I like to take something used and give it new life. As a result, some casings will show more wear than others and this will be visible to you in the photos but does not take away from the art.

Q: Do you take special orders or carve a special ball on request?
A: Convo me, we'll talk

Q: How do you care for the golf balls?
A: I haven't put any protective coating on the golf balls because the material doesn't require it. I've been known to throw them in a sink full of hot soapy water, but just rinsing them in water will work too.
