I have been creating things for a long time. By 8 or 9, I was carving wooden kitchen spoons for my Mom. By 11 or 12, making wooded boxes was my passion. By age 14, I was taking art (painting) classes. About that time, I discovered army surplus gasoline field stoves and began heating and straightening automotive leaf springs for making knives. When I was 18 the wonderful world of welding and metal fabrication was discovered and I have been in love ever since.
I am fascinated by hammering and shaping metal. I find satisfaction in the beauty of formed steel mixed with shapes and visual variations found in different woods. Many of the items listed mix wood and metal. The two materials blend well and compliment each other.
