About

Retirement is a wonderful thing! I finally am getting to live my dream. Everyday I get to go into my studio and create! Everyday I learn something new.

After receiving my BFA from The Kansas City Art Institute, I went to work for Sprint where got to use both the left and right side of my brain. I loved my job but now I really love being a full time artist. Working at Sprint prepared me for the business side of being an artist. Daily I use my Project management, process improvement, and creative problem solving skills.

For the last two years I have been focused on creating ceramic jewelry, beads, and pendants. I love color! Sometime I think I live in a crayon box - I have color everywhere. I manly work with low fire clay and am in love with Raku! I love the spontaneity of the process.

Opening my kiln is like a Christmas morning - surprise..surprise...surprise!

I took the long hot summer of 2012 off and studied lampworking - It has become my new passion! It is the perfect addition to my artistic "toolbox". Metal working is next on my list. I am working on some very interesting projects that combine my many old and new skills. It is exciting thinking about t all of the possibilities.

Life is good! I get to spend time with my Children and Grandchildren. They all love to got to GG;s studio. Everyday I enjoy my morning latte on the deck and a glass of wine in the evening while watching amazing sunsets and the fish jumping in the lake. I am fortunate to have a wonderful family and supportive friends - It doesn't get much better than that!
